The Day of the Volkswagen - Sunday 15 November 2015 Yarra Glen Racecourse This year's 'big day' will be much the same as last year's Sunday program, without the rain, we hope! Do come along and join us for a great show! Here’s some useful information –
Entry of cars and pedestrians will commence strictly at 9am.
Entry of all undercover Traders commences at 7.30am (all Traders must be set up by 9am with excess vehicles removed prior to that).
Swap site vendors will be admitted from 9am. This is to restrict unfair early sales.
VIP groups (all will have pre-paid passes) will enter by the top gate - labelled 'VIP Entry only' - from 9 am.
VIP stickers must be attached to the R/H side of windscreens. Vehicles without such stickers will not be admitted via this gate.
If members of VIP groups wish to have their vehicles judged, they must enter via the judging gates, then following judging, exit the venue, then re-enter via the VIP gate.
All other Volkswagens entering the grounds for display and judging will enter via the ‘Vehicle Entry only’ gate. Once inside the venue, cars being judged will be directed to either the Water Cooled or Air Cooled queue, as appropriate, and those for display to parking areas.
Pedestrians will enter via the ‘Pedestrian Entry’ gate.
Entry charges
Volkswagens entering the grounds (with up to five people) $25 per car Pedestrians walking into the show $15 per person Children under 16 Free Swap Sites $25 per car
Volunteers should report to the Membership and Merchandise (M and M) stand to collect their Volunteer Shirts and to clarify their duties.
Tech talks will be held, similarly to recent years. The program will be available at the M and M stand and will be announced over the PA.
Do remember that dogs and barbecues are not permitted by the venue.
When driving on grassed areas, please take care not to damage the surface.
Unregistered vehicles must be trailered into the venue, then pushed into position. (For insurance reasons, such vehicles are not permitted to be driven within the venue.)
Of course, all attendees are expected to behave in an appropriate manner.
There will be several vendors selling food and drinks.
There will be activities for children.
Judging will run from 9am to 11am.
Winners will be telephoned via their mobile phones once results are tallied, and will be asked to assemble in order ready for the drive-through and presentation of trophies.
The drive through and presentation are scheduled to commence at 2pm.
The Show concludes at 4pm.
See you on Sunday 15 November! The Day of the Volkswagen Organising Committee.
